About US
Aerial Frontiers Association Inc. (AFA) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to advancing STEM education and drone technology awareness across Western Australia. We co-host the RoboPro Australia Youth Drone Competition and the Community STEM & Drone Discovery Day, bringing together schools, industry, and communities to celebrate innovation.
Our Vision
To create an inclusive platform where every student can explore, learn, and lead in the world of emerging technologies.
Our Focus Areas
01 / Drone & Robotics Education & Safety Awareness
Aerial Frontiers Association (AFA) is the not-for-profit organisation authorised to deliver the RoboPro Australia Youth Drone Competition, an international youth competition founded by Aicode Australia in 2021.
Through this competition, AFA promotes teamwork, innovation, and aviation safety, while providing students with opportunities to apply coding, engineering, and drone piloting skills in real-world challenge scenarios.
Working in partnership with Aicode Australia, AFA continues to expand the competition’s community reach and educational impact across Western Australia and beyond.
02 /Community STEM Events & Outreach
The Community STEM & Drone Discovery Day was initiated by Aicode Australia and co-hosted with Murdoch University and Squadrone as a celebration of innovation, technology, and community collaboration.
Since its launch, the event has become one of Western Australia’s most engaging family STEM experiences, attracting thousands of participants each year to explore drones, robotics, and coding through interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities.
Under AFA’s coordination, the Discovery Day will continue to expand its community impact — inspiring more students, families, and schools to engage with STEM learning, promoting safe, responsible, and creative use of drone technology and building a future-ready STEM culture for Western Australia.
03 / Partnerships between Schools, Universities, and Industry
AFA serves as a bridge between schools, universities and industry, strengthening the collaborative ecosystem that supports STEM education across Australia.
Through partnerships with institutions such as Murdoch University, the University of Western Australia, UNAAWA, WiTWA and She Codes Australia, alongside industry leaders, we help students connect classroom learning with real-world innovation.
These collaborations create meaningful opportunities for mentorship, research engagement and hands-on industry experience. By bringing education and enterprise together, AFA empowers young people to explore future technology pathways while supporting Western Australia’s growing leadership in STEM and drone education.
RoboPro Australia
Youth Drone Tournament

OUR STORY
The RoboPro Australia Youth Drone Tournament was created as Australia’s first nationwide youth drone competition, inspiring young people to learn, explore, and apply drone technology.
It provides a platform for local and international students to come together, learn from one another, and develop their skills through collaboration and real-world challenges.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to introduce Australian students to the latest drone technologies and applications, empowering them to become confident, responsible, and creative global citizens in the technology field.
Through hands-on experiences and competition-based learning, we aim to spark interest, nurture talent, and inspire young people to positively influence others.

OUR TECHNOLOGY
We equip students, schools, and teachers with the latest drone and robotics technologies, providing hands-on access to modern tools used in real-world applications.
Through guided learning experiences, participants explore drone operation, programming, manoeuvring, safety, and practical applications, while also engaging with a range of robotics technologies that support creative and technical skill development.
